Abortion can be a touchy topic to talk about but it's needed at times like this. Whether you're religious or not, abortion needs to be a right. A woman can get pregnant one time while a man can impregnate a multitude of women whether consensual or rape. A woman "closing her legs" is not a solution. Although adoption is a great alternative it doesn't guarantee a good life. A lot of children in foster care or at orphanages deal with the trauma of rape, assault, abuse, and more. So many children are already waiting for homes. In America and Japan and so many other countries abortion rights are at risk.
Think of all the women in toxic relationships at an even bigger risk of death by their partner for not getting an abortion. Recently a 10 year old rape victim was denied an abortion. Banning abortions will only end legal and safe abortions. Some pregnant people are doing anything they can to force a stillbirth of an unwanted baby.
While children and adults are being gunned down daily with no stop, while mental health issues are on the rise, a recent baby formula shortage, and so many rape kits still being untested, abortion needs to be a right for women. Men in government should have no right to tell women how to take care of her body.
