Our history IS American History

Over 500 Native American tribes are still here and they are NOT mascots for entertainment

Lenape People/ True Native Manhattan inhabitants called it Manahatta (hilly island)

massacres

Tulsa race massacre, Black wall street

Underground railroad to Mexico (Mexico said slaves from the US were free citizens) https://www.aaihs.org/runaway-slaves-to-mexico-and-the-road-to-the-civil-war/

Mexico began to gradually abolish slavery soon after it declared independence from Spain in 1821

the Mexican Cession consisted of present-day U.S. states of California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona, the western half of New Mexico, the western quarter of Colorado, and the southwest corner of Wyoming.

The same way how black people were brought to this country and tortured, killed, raped, punished to work against our will but are labeled lazy as a whole or called violent, ignored and silenced for standing up for our rights or rebelling against a flawed system, pushed to harmful living areas (urban renewal).

How Indigenous people are often erased and used as mascots or have their land stolen or harmful living environments.

Many history books lie and it's our job to learn and teach what really happened and what's going on.

Schools teach us about the inspiring people that fought for our and other's rights while telling us we can't be ourselves (racism and discrimination in schools) or learn the rest of our history.
